Andy Sturgeon: 'I wish Sarah could have shared my finest hour'
His stunning garden has just won Best In Show at the Chelsea Flower Show, which makes him something of a David Beckham of the gardening world. A year ago, his partner, Sarah Didinal, the mother of his three young boys - Luke, ten, Cameron, seven, and Tom, five - enjoyed Chelsea Flower Show with him. As well as planting his garden with, among other plants, the salvias Sarah loved, there's been non-stop telly work for the BBC, speeches 'She died just the week after Chelsea. 'Sarah was involved in Chelsea last year. It's only when we're sat alone in his hauntingly beautiful garden that the smile slips. So she was here, part of the community, and at night we'd all go out together. Andy is in pieces, heartbreakingly so. His triumph is, as he says, 'bittersweet'. Indeed, he can barely move here in the showground without someone stopping to press his flesh. She was doing PR for one of my friends. Andy, a thoroughly nice man, accepts the congratulations with a warm smile. A week later Andy found her dead in bed.
