Town to welcome back flower show after 50 years
The first Bradford on Avon flower show in 50 years will take place this autumn along with the awarding of prizes for the annual Bradford Blooms competition. The flower show will be an opportunity for residents to show off their gardening, cooking and craft skills. The show has been organised by the town council at the request of local residents, who are keen to demonstrate their horticultural flair. 30pm in St Margaret’s Hall, the show on September 11 will feature traditional judging categories such as roses and runner beans, but also novelty contests such as longest carrot and. We’re aiming for a mix of a traditional and modern flower show with a twist. The craft categories include opportunities to make a nesting box or tiara, and there is a photography competition for images of the town on the theme ‘people at work’.
