Quite a few show gardens came across as show off gardens to me. . As a designer I like to see realistic gardens that people could actually use and enjoy. Only criticism is the ideas used in the show gardens always seem a year behind Chelsea. Wish Malvern show gardens could take a risk and be more forward thinking rather than retrospective in their design. It’s difficult for me to do the gardens justice as I only saw them on tv but I did get the feel it was Disney planting and canopy galore. I don’t think fashion is that important, but when I last went there did not seem to be that much to look at, the standard of presentation was a bit off and time for time I got more out of Chelsea. This Chelsea the crowds were so ridiculous and since the RHS does not seem to have a clue how to handle them, then I think the only recourse is to stop in London overnight and arrive early. But the actual Malvern show is so much more relaxed than the frantic nature of Chelsea....
