How We See It: Where will LeBron James play next season?
He’s already the best basketball player in the league (in my opinion) and playing in N. Y. would put him in the media Mecca of the world. Of course, given that the Clippers are the NBA’s answer to the Detroit Lions, chances are just as good that LeBron would suffer a career-ending bicep injury tossing powder into the air before a game. Los Angeles is a major media market, plus there is the challenge of replacing Kobe as the main draw at the Staples Center. again, the Cavs have become the Atlanta Braves of the NBA. The way New York has been spending in free agency the last few years, they may even give LeBron a credit card and let him sign his own sidekicks. The most likely choice is the Knicks. His legacy would be set, and they’d have the tools for a dynasty. He needs to get out or he’ll end up like Dan Marino or Jim Kelly, languishing in one city with a good-to-OK team.
