Pork Rind Festival begins 21st season TONIGHT
Director of the Festival, Bill Gossard, says that it is not only an opportunity for the community to gather, but it is a fundraising event for the Festival Committee to do good works. " He said the popularity of car shows will "bring the people in. " The cars also participate in the parade, which begins Saturday at noon. The annual activities are set: the chili cookoff, the Civil War cannon demonstrations, the Pinewood Derby, 5K run and daily entertainment. The Committee has also bought tables in the past for the Allen East Community Center, and plans to purchase more. The Festival Committee makes donations to other non-profits such as 4-H groups, and to the Harrod Fire Department and St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. The Cruise-in and car show will return for its second year at the Festival. High school students have been entering different pieces of art, like sculptures, paintings, and ceramics that celebrates the provider of pork rinds - the pig. Gossard explained that the response and "the enthusiasm was fantastic.

" Well, I DO do that, but this week I found a good used commercial Toro 48" Zero turn mower. Ohhh, I now it's not that funny, but it seems she owes us more than we owe her and removing skunks is the one little thing in life that lets her pay back the favor debt. Back in '06 we bought a "homeowner" Toro Z-turn. Well, every once in a while she pays extra and yesterday was one of those days. I sharpen the lawn mower blades twice a year. Mornin all--seriously due for that Folgers Freddy,tore off & dried in my buddies roof with him yesterday & showed up at 6 this AM to start getting the metal on(24' long) kinda awkward to handle w/ 2 people--well we got rained out & have our new Amish The little bugger let loose as she approached and some of the oil mist got on Carla. A few little adjustments a a modification to make it easier to raise & lower the deck & this bad boy is ready to mow. The old saying is : "I treat my wife well....
